OUR BRAIN IN ITS THREE-DIMENSION POSTURE
(July 16, 2004)

The three dimension of our brain is an interesting posture to see.

Limbic system and Thalamus

In co-ordination with the brain stem, the limbic system regulates temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar. The two parts of the limbic system - the hippocampus and the amygdale - are essential to form memories. The limbic system is also the center of human emotions. It comprises of about one-fifth of the brain volume.

The Thalamus is the brain's relay station. It channels impulses from all the senses except smell to the cerebral cortex.

The cortex is the thin layer. The cortex is one of our evolution parts in our body. Its further development i.e., our evolution development is in our hands. The only action of it is our instant thinking.
