The combined divinity of Lord Bhrama, Vishnu and Shiva took the form of Lord Dattathreya as an avatar during the period in-between the dwapara yuga and kali yuga.
He traveled all over the country imparting gnana to everyone whom he met. He realized the pulsating principle of God in everything he saw. He had 33 gurus both inert objects and living beings which include man, tree, etc.
